Now, I know what you're thinking..."did someone actually name an article that?"  Yes, I did, for multiple reasons, but the biggest one is because it perfectly describes something going on in the body of Christ that needs to be addressed.  If you have not figured it out by now, you soon will...I'm not concerned if you feel uncomfortable or offended.  My whole purpose in writing the things that I do is to stretch you, to get you to step outside of your religious box and realize that 100 out of 100 times, real relationship is better that religion.         So, with that being said, some people are not going to read this because of the title, then again, some of you are going to read it because of the title.  Regardless, what I want you to do is, as you read, honestly examine your heart and if you find conviction, please respond appropriately.        Ok, we all know what masturbation is.  It's self-pleasure.  I'm not going to get into whether masturbation is right or wrong, but in my personal opinion, anything that you do to glorify or satisfy SELF is probably not good.  It is also the act of spilling your seed, and that is where I want to begin. The word of God is the seed of God. Now, you can look at that one of two ways. Either, as a seed to be planted into the ground, or a sperm. Both have the same purpose, to grow into something beautiful and mature, full of life and destiny.        I can't tell you how many times I have had people come up to me and say, "Brother, please pray for me. Give me a word from the Lord." I pray for them, I give them a powerful word. And then one or two days later, they come back and ask for another one. What happened to the one I just gave you? Did you even take it before the Lord and apply it to your life? It didn't take long before I realized what was happening. Getting a powerful word from God feels great, it's exciting. But when you do nothing with the seed that God spoke to you, you just cast it aside and seek another one just to feel good, how is that any different than fleshly masturbation? You are seeking it only to make yourself feel good, either that or you're dissatisfied with the word that God gave you because it wasn't the one you wanted, which is an entirely different subject.         The real issue here is that we would rather follow man then follow God.  There are a lot of people in the Body today that bounce around from church to church, from pastor to pastor to get words and impartations for gifts and things that God has already given them if they would only read the scriptures, discover their true identity in Christ, and begin to live that reality everyday.  Stop seeking someone else's anointing, and begin to discover the anointing that God has for you. I do not want the Smith Wigglesworth anointing. I do not want the John G. Lake anointing. I do not want the Billy Graham anointing. I do not want the Reinhard Bonnke anointing. I do not want the Todd White anointing. I want MY anointing. I want the anointing that God hand designed for me, and that Christ's blood paid for.         So, what is the solution? Well, while I don't feel like there is anything wrong with getting a fresh word from the Lord in moments when it is needed, there are also so many principles in the Bible that we don't even try to apply to our lives. I believe that God can speak to us today, but why run to a man to listen and get a word for you when you could read the scriptures, and seek God for a word yourself?  And for crying out loud, apply the the words he gives and has given to your life, instead of aborting it like we have grown accustomed to.  How else do we expect to grow into something beautiful and mature, full of life and destiny? So, I'm asking you, please apply His word to your life and become who you are meant to be. And if you're brave enough, please share this article for all of your brothers and sisters.
