Religion Has Never Saved A Soul

Let me tell you why Jesus was so against the Pharisees and the religious authorities! It’s because religion equals oppression. Religion oppresses people. Jesus said that he came to set the captives free, not oppress them with religion. He was and still is the Champion on the Common Man! And the reason the Pharisees didn’t see him as that was because they didn’t associate themselves with the common man. They were the righteous and they wanted everyone to know it. Let me tell you something, self-righteousness is not righteousness! And if you find yourself in a position where, through your religiousity, you think it is your duty to oppress “sinners” into your religion I say this...BEWARE, because what may have begun with good intentions has aligned you with the Oppressor, and it doesn’t matter if they are lesbian, gay, straight, white, black, male, female, Buddhist or Hindu, God will always take up the cause of the oppressed. So to be the oppressor is to be at war with God. And to all my brothers and sisters who have been oppressed by religion, I say this, be who you are and know God as He is...a loving Father who has your best interests in mind and could care less about religious duty as long as He has your heart.
